Oracle User Experience SVP will discuss Product Management Meets Design on Feb. 12 in SEA
Oracle’s User Experience SVP will be speaking in Seattle on February 12, discussing Product Management for Data Science.
The speaker, Hillel Cooperman, says he will share his experience on how product management and product design can work together for success.
“As product design matures as a discipline, it has the potential to partner or conflict with established product management disciplines,” says Cooperman. “These growing pains can be hard on teams or they can be opportunities for growth.”
His talk will take place on Feb. 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Mixpanel Headquarters. Tickets range from $8 to $15 and can be purchased online.
Hillel Cooperman is senior vice president of user experience design at Oracle, where he is transforming Oracle’s user experiences for customers. Cooperman is focused on bringing state-of-the-art, consumer-grade user experiences across devices to enterprise software scenarios. His goal is to raise the bar on every interaction customers have with Oracle software and with Oracle itself.
Cooperman also recently served as the Design Director of Microsoft’s Azure Data and Machine Learning Platform. At Microsoft, we also worked as a product unit manager of the Windows User Experience team delivering the Windows AERO desktop user experience. Cooperman has also been a speaker at numerous design and industry events. The list includes San Francisco Design Week, the Seattle Interactive Conference, DesignThinkers, CreativeMornings, Microsoft’s Professional Developers Conference, O’Reilly Tools of Change, Microsoft Ignite, and TED.
Ahead of his talk, Cooperman answered a few questions about his experience in product management and design.
What is your favorite product and why?
It’s likely no surprise that an SVP of User Experience would respond in kind.
“My favorite product is AirBnB because it does pretty much what I want, it does it better than anyone else, and it’s a pleasure to use.”
What makes a great product?
You know what they say about opinions…
“I think great products are opinionated. They have a perspective and they’re not afraid to express it.”
From your perspective as an SVP of User Experience Design, what makes a great Product Manager?
For Hillel, the answer is two-fold.
“I think a great product manager is a great listener and a great motivator. These two things in harmony make for great leadership.”
