Marissa Beatty is the founder and CEO of Turnover Labs, a New York–based climate-tech startup transforming industrial CO₂ emissions into the basic chemicals found in everyday products. While earning her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Columbia University, Marissa focused on lowering the cost and complexity of advanced electrochemical reactors for sustainable manufacturing. That research now powers Turnover Labs’ technology: compact, efficient CO₂ conversion systems that help industrial facilities reduce their emissions and unlock new revenue from waste streams. She has been honored as a Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient in 2024 in the Energy category, and chosen for the first-ever climate cohort of the Activate Fellowship. Across her career, she is driven by the belief that climate solutions must be not only groundbreaking, but also grounded in the realities of how industry operates, in order to drive scalable change.
